Grimshaw, Nigel

(1925-    ) UK writer. His YA Wildkeepers sequence – Bluntstone and the Wildkeepers (1974) and The Wildkeepers' Guest (1976) – confronts the Wainscot society of child-sized Wildkeepers with an incursion of modern reality in the form of Bluntstone, a building contractor whose machines threaten to destroy their domain. They evoke the powers of Magic, but – unusually – Bluntstone is by no means a Villain, and the two sides come to terms. [JC]
